This 90 minute webinar will cover prescribing and review of parenteral nutrition in patients with allergies and special dietary requirements.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
Differentiate between food allergies and intolerances, and explain the underlying mechanisms and their relevance to parenteral nutrition prescribing.
Identify key components of parenteral nutrition (PN) formulations that may pose risks for patients with food allergies or specific dietary requirements (e.g. soya, peanut, egg, vegetarian, vegan, halal or kosher).
Discuss the clinical implications of allergen cross-reactivity and the important of appropriate PN product selection.
