ClogBusters - What causes Intravenous Nutrition Catheter Occlusions?

BPNG are investigating the causes of central venous catheter occlusions in parenterally fed patients. Within ClogBusters there are 5 smaller projects that will need your assistance in over the next couple of years.

The first project that we are undertaking is looking at obtaining hospital/company protocols for the following:

Line flushing; Line Locking; Line Cleaning & Line Unblocking.

We would be grateful if you could send any protocols on the care and salvage of central venous catheters that are in use within your place of work. These could be for in-patients and for homecare patients.
